Changes in Malware Trends

So for those of you that haven't already heard, there is an increasingly irritating category of Malware known as Scareware. It basically warns you through a dozen different means that your computer is infected, when in fact, clicking on or responding it a number of different ways to the notice is what actually triggers the infection.

If ever you get a notification that your computer is infected by a pop-up, kill it with task manager, DO NOT CLICK IN THE WINDOW or even the small x that typically closes the window. Even that much starts a rather irritating process.

Already been hit? Tools like virus scanners and most free spyware detection and removal programs just won't cut it. But recently there has been a huge surge of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware users as its a free program known to kill the most harassing scareware including the famous Antivirus 2008 variety.

In other news, Advanced Windows Care has been replaced with Advanced SystemCare Free. I still love this all-in-one program for your typical non-technical user.
